800 volt and up to 350,000 Wh charging? Full charge of a 200+ kWh pack in under an hour? I can honestly say that would make me nervous. That is an enormous amount of energy.

this is what I see
Seems like a tech glitch/formatting error to me. It's like they compressed the wording from the images I posted so that it would be narrow enough to fit on a phone screen in vertical format, and as a result the word "estimated" got pushed up from the range bullet point to the powertrain bullet point.
Everything that I've seen, including videos of the actual truck seems like all of the basics are handled, and they're just tweaking small things while they finish the production line. Not sure how many we're likely to see since they're going to be $112k for the first year but I don't think this is any far off vapor ware.
This is the Musk business model. Get everyone to reserve ahead of time. That's money in the bank. Then try like berking hell to deliver. If you can't then you just owe the deposits back. They can even give the deposits back with interest since there is basically no interest these days.

That's really just marketing. The 11,500 figure is wheel torque, which includes gearing multiplication. Actual torque at the motors is likely to be around 1000ft-lbs for the 3 motor versions. The video Tuna posted does a nice explanation
This. 100 %. It might be the actual motors since electrics can make a whopping load of torque at locked rotor conditions but it's still hype. The average bro-dozer with 800 ft*lbs (or is it lbs*ft or does it not matter since it's the product (multiplication of ft and lbs)) would be multiplied at whatever advantage the torque convert gives which would me multiplied with the gear ratio in the trans which would then be multipled by the axle gearing which would be something probably not too far removed from this Hummer.
It's been on the horizon for a little while, but the age of 1000+ horsepower/torque production vehicles is finally here. Just Wow.
Are they calculating electric motor hp the same way the Shop Vac and air compressor manufacturers do it?

The same people that are buying the Escalade Platinum, S-Class, Panamera, Tesla Model S or X Performance, etc can afford this Hummer; there's a lot of those people in this country. And if you consider the Section 179 tax deduction for business owners, there even more people who could afford to add a vehicle like this to their fleet.

the new lotus is slated to have just under 2000 hp with it's four electric motors.
Lets not forget HP is calculated based on rpm.
HP = RPM x Torque / 5252
If you have two motors that put out the same torque but one is capable of higher RPM, the faster turning motor will make more hp:
5,000 x 100 / 5252 = 95 hp
10,000 x 100 / 5252 = 190 hp
Electric motors are capable of higher rpm than piston engines and HP sells cars.
Frequently, electric motor manufacturers overstate the output of their motors by quoting locked rotor torque which is how much torque the motor puts out when you hold the output shaft and keep it from turning. This is also the point where the motor burns out. Real world output torque should be stated at full load amp draw rather than locked amp draw which can be three times as much.
There's lots of room for shenanigans.

I LOVE section 179 more than my wife. I hope this thing is over 6,000 lbs!!!!

Yes... for now. Eventually this tech will make it's way to normal-priced cars.
Hahahahaha!
