Hypothetically speaking; if you had a Business that funded your Foundation, and wanted a vintage "symbolic car" what would it be?Doesn't have to be expensive, but not clapped out either.
The object would be to advertise the Business, and to promote awareness for the Foundation through motorsports/rallies etc.
The Business exists to fuel the Foundation. All profits after taxes would go towards it.
Thanks,
John
One nobody can ignore: Yellow Checker Marathon. Name of Business on the flanks.
"modern" mecanicals, eye grabbing, easy to insure, and who doesn't notice one.

I've never ridden in, driven or owned another car that got more attention than this. It gets old after a while for someone who is using it as a DD, but if getting attention is your goal, it would be one of my top choices. It helps that they're cheap, reliable, economical to run and they seat 7 (or haul things with the seats folded down).
I'd also look into anything else with a striking shape. '49-'50 Ford would be wonderful, as they were and still are an iconic shape that many say saved the company. A nice one can get pricey, though. Maybe something from the Big 3 from the late 50s. Tail fins are always a winner.

'59 Impala with the cat eye tails. You got enough room on that trunk lid to advertise the MOON.

Citroën DS. Good luck finding one though.
VW Bus (or any air-cooled VW.) Corvair van/pickup or early Ford Econoline. Lots of wall space on those to decorate.
Series I-III Land Rover.
Dodge Power Wagon.
Mini Traveller. They get noticed precisely because they're so small.
If you were in Canada I'd also throw in the Nissan S-Cargo.
This. Not mine and all that jazz. Wish it was though.

'65 Mustang- for the Preservation of Ford Motor Company Foundation.
Any sort of panel van or panel wagon from the 50s and 60s. Plenty of advertising space.

Thanks for the suggestions.
I'm not looking for a billboard, just a car that could run the Copperstate or California Mille or Bonneville and subtly advertise the cause(s).
One that would be instantly recognizable as being part of that organization....worldwide.
and to promote awareness for the Foundation through motorsports/rallies etc.
Whatever street legal vintage racing car that suited my interest and pocket that was in good shape today. Probably a 1974 911 RSR clone in Foundation livery but Paneras, Cortinas, Alfa GTVs and BMW CSLs, 510s... the list is huge.
