I am not sure if this is a regional phenomenon as I attend mostly NEPA and Central PA autocross events, but I only recall seeing one Hyundai Genesis competing. Is there a scaricty in other regions? I fthat is the case, why? It seems like it would be a good autocrosser, but I have never driven one.
I've seen a red one compete. It was stock, it was slow.
They're slow and heavy cars.
That's probably changing for 2013, where they'll be faster but still heavy cars.
i have not seen one yet on the track in my area.

There is a Genesis coupe in Milwaukee that runs in the street-tire class under the GS index--he is at or near the top of the whole group. It is a GREAT car in class, despite what Ben thinks!

Heh, sorry... i don't know how the car did in its class... probably 1st out of 3 entries, two of them running the Genesis.
A GS Genesis wont the D.C. Region ST challenge as well. Doesn't make it fast though.
It does ok in stock class as well, but 19" hoosiers on a GS car = :(
Drove an R-spec the year they came out in GS on street tires. Car was fun, handled great and felt very competent. That day I got to outdrive a pair Civic Si's and a pair of GTI's as well as the car owner/co-driver. Made me feel good and solidified my need to get a RWD auto-x car.
So Ben's talking out of his smelly orifice this time around.
There's a Red one that absolutely MURDERS our GS index every event. it had 4 drivers at one of our last events and did REALLY well for 3 of the 4 drivers. (of course: on hoosiers, big front sway, aftermarket shocks)
In reply to Autolex:
Thinking that the Genesis might be a sleeper GS car here in the Keystone state.
