So the guy had to read the whole ad to find out what was important to him. Woa. It could have not been in there at all and he would have had to email to find out (if there wasn't a motor shot.)
In the late 70's, I knew a guy with one of those, slant 6. He was mid 20's MPG, which was incredible for the time. My 472 Caddy got about 6-8.
Suggested response: "I know reading is difficult for you, and that you have to move your lips while doing so, but you could have just looked at the pictures and had your mom read the ad aloud."
If someone demanded that I sell my car at their price because of an OBO, I would have laughed loudly for long enough to be obnoxious then just hung up on him.
I admit that I learned my lesson many years ago by making offers without seeing the vehicle, but some people don't learn.

I did almost that exact thing once on a whim, got a good DD out of it.
