took the headliner out of the turbo brick today.... had to, had no choice. The dang think was loose and flapping around like a mobile advertisement of my white trashism. The foam insulation (surely asbestos) was blowing all over the inside of the car and me, getting in my eyes, causing temporary blindness, etc, etc. But once you take the headliner out of your car, you've officially crossed over to the dark side. Good news though, I guess I'm one step closer to having a race car, next stop, roll cage!

The local upholstery shop will do a headliner for $100. You might call around for some pricing.

It doesn't 't look that hard to do. When mine gets a bit worse I'm picking up some sweet plaid material form JoAnns and taking a crack at it.

I thought about getting some spray mount and just putting it back myself but it was ripped up pretty bad (the result of using the car to haul lumber). I didn't just take out the headliner but the cardboard to which it was glued. Now its just metal. Looks 10 times better if you ask me.

I shot the fibreglass base with granite look spray paint. It worked surprisingly well.

Your last line was superb! I've been there many times myself only with 4x4's

Like when I put my Cherokee in a position where the only way out of a mini-valley was to squeeze between trees that were one inch too close together for my truck.

I slowly dented tore off both my mirrors and pine-striped the entire length. (Yes PINE-striped)

I had new blades for my sawzall the next morning!
