Ok, so I pull up to the Library today and see a NICE, late 80's Dodge Colt with the DOHC turbo. This thing is clean with a capitol K. Anyway, I felt rather dorky doing this but I left a note on a windshield. Not to buy it cuz I'm broke, but just to be a fan boi. Man, I hacen't seen one of those in many years, let alone one that clean.
What notes have you left on windshields and WHY???
I pulled up next to a CLEAN ~84 celica last night at a bowling alley. Pull right up next to it to park and it has the same wheels I have on my '82 tetanuswagen. So...I left a note scrawled in crappy writing on a napkin to put under the wiper just in case (not that I could afford it, but I'd find it a good home!). Kinda cool seeing two vintage japanese cars next to each other in the lot on a late sunday evening. Mine was ugly, the celica was nice!

I had a note left on my window by a hot chick when I was driving my Hurst Olds... Come to find out she thought I was cuter than I really am.
And I'm going to leave one someday soon on the ~'80 Malibu wagon around the block. You just know this old stuff will eventually cost an owner more to fix than the vehicle is worth to them...so the note can't hurt. I'll be happy to have it when the transmission goes out or the head gasket blows ;).

A Conquest was sitting in my parking lot rotting away and I left a note on it. It ended up getting towed.
The same dude owned a 80's 318 so I offered to buy that...I think it got towed too.
Then I left a note on 95 Civic hatchback that was sitting around for a few months...the owners fixed it shortly there after and sold it to a family member...ugh.
I also put a note lately on an ~86 Crown Victoria parked in a lot with a tire rolled off the rim and mangled up. When I got there to put the note on it I saw that there was already a note on it. Lol. The tire got fixed and I have since seen the car driving around on several occasions. Funny, at least two people swooped in like hawks on this ghettobulous LTD in need of a tire.
This thread has inspired me to type up, print off, and keep with me a small stack of notes to leave on prospective "interest" cars. (for real...they're printing now) Thanks!

ive left notes on Ferraris saying "you are do for a belt change"
haha i meant "due", long day...
I've left and received notes on cars, I think its cool, not dorky. One time someone even left me a short story about their car.
nothing I own is cool enough to be noteworthy, that will change when my Rat BuickTR-7 is done...maybe...then again, maybe only another GRMer would think it was cool.
I get notes on my car all the time:
"Get your damn car off my lawn!"
"Move this POS or I will tow it!"
"Hey A-hole, nice park job."
"I find your naked lady bumper stickers offensive. Please do not park in front of the playground again."
I left a note on an NYG ACR Neon in a school parking lot one day, telling the owner if he/she ever wanted to get shed of it, to call me.
To my chagrin, I've heard nothing since; it would complete my collection of NYG Neons.
I left a note on a 70 Charger, once. Three years later, I get a call. "Hey, Mike, you still interested in my old car?"
Huh?
"That old Charger of mine. You left a note."
I would have, but I was broker than broke at the time.
I used to have a card which said, 'SUMMONS-NOTICE OF INCONSIDERATION. YOU DID A PISS POOR PARKING JOB. I HAD TO USE A CAN OPENER TO GET MY CAR OUT, AZZHOL3'.
The Jensen has had a couple of notes left under the wipers, it's usually someone trying to get rid of another LBC.

That's awesome! I wish folks would leave me notes offereing to sell me cheap old rear drive toyotai and such.
I do this all the time.
Part time job as a pizza delivery driver gets me to the "sitters"
Since I really like the steals, I look for expired plates and inspections..coat of dirt is a plus, flat tires or a taped up window are clues.
91 Mustang convertible, 93 Miata, 86 Turbo-coupe, 89 Ranger, Cobra kit car (unbuilt), riding mower, lathe, fence material, pony wheels...lots of stuff cheap because I left a note.
Had one fellow call me 3 years after leaving a note.
He was moving and wanted his old Mustang gone.
$300 and I drove it home (without overdrive).
$150 5 speed conversion and its a fine car!

I left a note on a 930 that had been sitting for 18 months in an indoor parking garage in a building I was working on. It was in pristine condition just covered in a very thick layer of dust. It had the huge wail tale, full fender flairs. It was the dark silver/gray with a black leather interior. IT was the 930 that I always wanted!!!!! I got a call 5-6 years later asking if I wanted to purchase it. I went to look at it and it was trashed. The owners daughter had taken it to school and there was nothing on the car that had not been ruined. I started it just to see how it was and it smoked like a pig and there was a nasty rap from the motor. I passed but thanked him explaining that there was no such thing as a cheap Porsche.
