Sad thing is, his other tow-capable vehicle is a Subaru, and the Miata is probably better suited for towing. Bigger brakes, more power, extra cool factor.

As much as I love wagons, those words do not belong in the same sentence.
It's an XT Turbo not an XT-6.
He's sold the Explorer and I think he sold the V40. Last I talked to him, someone gave him a deposit on the FC as well. Might be gone by now. Which is kinda sad, because I think the FC is the car that's been in his possession the longest. I remember helping swap Good Struts onto the thing four or five years ago. He swapped in a Series 5 engine after the original let go at Nelson Ledges and it kinda didn't run right after that, until we figured it out a year or two ago.
I got my third RX-7 from the same guy who previously owned the XT. (The black one is my fourth)
Yes, that's an XT GL-10 (4 cyl turbo) with blown pneumatic struts. The Mustang and Magnum belong to my neighbors and I just sold the RX-7. I am sad to let it go, but I haven't really been doing anything with it even since getting it running again and I have two other project cars (Mini & XT) that need attention as well...
But back to towing, the MX-5 did great and yes, the looks from other motorists were priceless! I even got 25mpg while towing.
that pic is truly very amsuing......thanks for the laugh.....and i sure you where trying not to laugh your ass off driveing home to get into a wreak.....
