I'm slowly working my way around the wife's Cherokee and while underneath, noticed a few bubbles on the rear of the rocker panels. Hmm, they feel a little soft ... crunch, aaargh.
Looks like the best way to fix it is to replace the rear quarter of the rocker panel on the passenger side and potentially on the drivers side as well.
Hrmpf. Just what I needed, another project.

Yep. I'm in the same boat with my truck - both rockers are starting to look less "black" and more "brown"... or I look for another extended cab ram with less rust... and maybe with a quad cab doors. It's not like the cab on the truck now is original...
You need an excuse to buy a mig welder?
Sell it and buy a better one from a rust-free zone. Probably cheaper and you get a road trip out of it to boot.
I am looking at the bottom of all the doors in my expedition as well as bubbles in the roof. I already have the big I just don't want to do it.

I am in a mostly rust free zone, the car is from the Southwest and the rocker panels are pretty much the only area of rust on it.
Plus, Cherokees are really expensive out here.
