A few weeks ago I picked this up
I plan to use the car for racing and maybe short trips around town, with the cage design a factory roof (soft or hard) will not clear the main hoop. I was looking around the web for a cover that could be put on and removed quickly when the car is outside between sessions as during the summer pop up rain storms happen quiet often in this area and sitting in a wet seat is not much fun. I found the G-string top seems to fit my need but is there another answer I am not aware of?
A few more pics of the cage.
Thanks, Paul
You can get "cockpit covers" which are basically a half-size car cover. Can't drive with one on, but they do a pretty effective job of keeping the interior dry in the rain. Moss Miata has them.
custom tonneau? Any good upholstery shop should be able to hook you up, and you can drive with one on.

Oh boy. What'd you end up paying, if you don't mind saying? (I looked at this car. Please remove his radiator...stuff...)
The cage was built outwards from what was once a bolt-in roll bar. The main hoop is the one place a top should clear. If you have not actually tried it, you might want to test-fit a hardtop before giving up on that idea. If you are located near where the car was for sale, let me know if you want to test-fit with mine. I assume you can get into the car without climbing down from above?
RedGT, I will have to go up and over to enter the car due to the layout of the side bar so a hard top for the most part will not fit my need's but might be useful for storage. As for some of the PO's custom designs I am not sure all of them were worth the effort he put into them, I plan to change a few things over the winter.

You could find someone locally that makes boat covers. They can make you exactly what you want with sections that zip/snap in/out.
I have a further idea for this too... Get some 303 sunbrella protector and spray it on your seats. With a few coats, the cloth should just bead up if any water does get in there. Its not a total solution, but might save you from a soggy butt.
