I put a bid in for $700 thinking "dear god, someone will pay more than that." Well, now my deposit is in and I own this. Oh GRM, what have I gotten myself into?
Those have all returned to the earth in this part of the country. Great score!!!!
That's no accident!
Rock it just the way it is. Don't even change the wheels.
Sell it for $1,500 towards the end of the summer when gas is over $4/gal.

You know, for a Wisconsin car that looks to be in really nice condition. I'd rock it.
By the way, we have an upcoming Vintage Views on these cars.
Semi-related thought: When I went to freshman orientation, my roommate had just bought a brand-new, first-gen CRX Si. Yes, I was jealous. My Honda had handlebars.
"1986 HONDA CRX Si 5 SPEED FUEL INJECTED MUGEN VINTAGE COUPE NO RESERVE ROADSTER"
Best eBay tag line I have seen in a while!!!
Have fun.

That car looks to be worth exactly what you paid for it. So dont beat yourself up too much.

there's no shame in that....it is nice. enjoy, then pass it on to a fanboy
Still buying the Peugeot???
Well, if you don't want it you can contest it as a misrepresented item, since the seller described it as a sports car .

I got my crusty Volvo 1800ES the same way. I put in a bid (forget actually how much) figuring I'd get out-bid. The seller was a bit disappointed as the previous time he put the car on eBay with a high reserve the bidding got up to over $2000. I got it for $800. Rusty as hell, but ran like a top.
I'm kinda bummed with myself about the car. If I'd known then what I know now about how little cops in PA pay attention to inspection stickers on old cars, I'd have kept driving it and not torn in apart.
this happens to me a lot more than i like......throw a bid out there and then you get the email "enjoy your new car"
The Mugen tape holding the headlight in is a rare score!
Looks a bit rough but definitely a sweet deal. Could make a nice DD.

You know, it's funny that you ask. I'm probably the only person on this board who would rather have that 405 than this CRX, but I digress...
We'll see just how much fun I have with it on the ~45 mile drive home. Unless I really love it I'm planning on flipping it after some TLC; I'm paranoid about Honda theft, especially since it's an Si. I doubt I'll have much trouble if I decide to re-sell, at least.
I'm actually a little sad that I have to worry so much...3g Civics are probably my favorite Honda. I would love to do this thing up with some period wheels and performance parts and just drive it but I feel like it would just disappear one day if I did.

If you were on my side of the country i'd take it off your hands for your purchase price + your fees (if any), sight unseen. But WI to TX is a little much for a $700 car.
I would just be taking it apart for my nicer 86 and selling leftovers.
Well, just found out I'm picking this little guy up tonight. Check back later for pics and info. I should know in a few hours whether or not this one is deserving of a build thread
Have fun with it. They are great little cars. Is Honda theft that big of an issue with 3g/1g cars anymore? Seems ther isn't much demand for parts for them anymore.
