95 Cougar with a partial Landau top. Maybe throw in a manual when the trans inevitably blows. I am thinking grab whatever diesel truck turbo I can scrounge up and and redneck this thing together.

For 1200 bucks this thread should have been about how you trailered it home already.

It might still smell like old lady. Do it.

hmmm.. It's a real shame the thunderbird Turbo coupe hood would not fit

Sub 1500 dollar cougars and thunderbirds are everywhere here. There was another one on the same page of CL for 995 but it had a wrinkled fender. Sadly, I don't really have the toy budget for a boosted cougar. Maybe for next year's challenge, assuming I make the same level of progress that I did this year on the starlet.

Wanted 5.0 content, i guess at 1200 a 4.6 isnt all bad, at least it has the right amount of cylinders. I like to see weird cars on drag wheels.

Like this, but think mercury. Summit makes some cheap knock offs and then slam the front to the ground.

Build the E36 M3 out of the suspension and brakes, svt cobra motor, the stickiest rubber you can get for stock size wheels and leave the looks stock

That thing needs a huge blower poking out of the hood, and not much else.

My dad drove one of these every day for nearly 10 years. It was a GREAT car, returning decent fuel econ and comfort. I'd have one with a manual swap.

Why would anyone want to do anything to that car except forget it existed as quickly as humanly possible? Cougars haven't had a shred of cool in them since 1972.
