This is a huge improvement over anything else anyone is doing.

Aside from the skirt blowing up, the rest of it is terribly annoying. Makes me not want a Fiat, honestly. I much prefer the Abarth ads with the car driving fast and attractive women. Then again, I'm a typical male who like women and likes to drive cars fast, not a 16-year old internet-meme-maker or a teenage girl. So I'm probably not the target audience.

I am a typical male too............they should just eliminate all of the commercial except for the skirt blowing up part.
Ugh, Fiat should fire their ad agency. Those commercials are terribly annoying. If the target audience is under the age of 15 and think that a Scion is too "stodgy", then they have hit a goldmine.
Now get off my lawn. I have to get back to watching the Hamster dance page full of annoying .gifs.
I liked it, and I'm not a 16 year ago internet meme maker or a teenage girl.
It's far from being the best car commercial ever, but to me it was different and fun.
They have to do something to get people's attention, because in 99% of the American homes where that will be seen, there is zero interest in that car.
It gives me a headache.
But it's nice to see a car being marketed as something "fun" rather than "serious performance machine" or "sensible transportation". We need more of that, so I'm not going to quibble about the details.
Nah I gotta agree with Jalopnik. It's more obnoxious and annoying than funny. Looping animations and memes are some of those things where there's a thin margin for error between really good and really bad, and they slipped onto the wrong side of it.
Fiat has made some good ads (the original Abarth and Charlie Sheen one) and some terrible ones (this one and the J Lo one).
Best ads are still made by Jag. Worst goes to Toyota. IMHO
I can't stand commercial TV, I only watch Netflix, DVD's etc. But last week I was in a hotel all week and came across that ads watching a movie one night. First time through the skirt inevitably got my attention and I loved the loop. The rest of the ad was quite funny first time though. Second time it was, I've seen this, third and subsequent viewing was painful post skirt.
Once network and Cable TV dies completely over the next decade and everyone watches all their content streaming on line ads like this will work once they can ensure that no one ever sees it more than 2-3 times unless they are a heterosexual male when they car loop the skirt infinitely.
Like the Fiat 500 waverunner video better than the OP add. Too bad the converted cars don't run on land (or do they?)
