Like title says... i'm looking for a good cheap source for lighting things.

The rear lighting on the MX6 is downright dangerous, and since i'm driving it through this winter, i'd like to be seen at night/in storms.

Something like this would be cool. I'm not real picky, i'm just going to cut up my bumper to install it, and probably control it off a rocker switch of some sort so it's not acting as an attractant to moth-like humans driving cars when it's not needed.

http://rev9autosport.com/na/exterior/zoom-back-lamp-kit.html that's almost what you have pictured there, for whatever that's worth.

Seems like it's worth about $70 more than i want to pay.

I appreciate it, though! It WAS running through my head wondering exactly what that was.

But this is a car that must adhere to the Challenge Budget.

Use Google Shopping, search for "led fog light", and watch the magic happen.

^NICE!

Wonder how bright that is... I'm looking for the brightness found on the 90s Saab 9-3s if possible, but for $8, who cares! I can always mod it!

Thanks!

Oof, just noticed how big it is. WOW. Wonder how that would look. Only one way to find out!

TS also has an LED version that is 4" and a 2" LED light/reflector version.

If you do go to a junkyard, look for a second-generation Olds Aurora. Quite a few of them had such things in the rear bumper. Notes from the field (i.e, driving behind them) indicate that they are very bright.

Oh thank you!

I remember them being very bright as well!

123 chassis Mercedes wagons had a small one in place of the left backup light. That was on some models. you may have to look a little.

What about adding one into the rear light cluster like the Euro cars do?

This is what I would opt for instead of cutting holes and mounting etc.

Almost seems harder to do, but i'll take a look at my spare broken taillight and see how feasible that would be without washing out my brake light.

I'm trying to avoid it looking "broken."

I've had good luck with rallylights.com . Seems like they should have something like what you need.

You'll need to log in to post.
