After a year of looking in haystacks I found a needle. It's a sporty car full of mid 80's awesomeness. It's also 1000 miles away. Based on work schedule and bravery I need to find a transport company. Any recommendations, anti-recommendations or helpful advice? Never done this before.
What city is it going from and to? Does it run and drive?

I hear this guy does it:
I used these guys recently to transport my motorcycle from CA --> OH, overall was happy, but it took a bit longer than I thought (about a month from the initial quote to bike showing up in my garage):

Central IL to FL Gulf Coast. It runs and drives, I'm just not sure it is 1000 mile summertime road worthy. For example, the pictures show original radiator hose clamps and for its 170k miles it has lots of original, never touched parts.

PM sent with possible transport option based in FL. If you are flexible on schedule it is easier to get a good rate.

In reply to glueguy: Rates depend on how close you are to a regularly run route, Whaether you need open or closed transport too. Rates vary WIDELY. There is also usually a $100 charge to winch a roller on to a trailer. If you know anyone at a franchise dealer ask them who they use. If you have any buds on a military base you may want to ask them too.
