on a side note. Holy crap is cars and bids good for Doug demuro. In less than a year he's bought a Porsche Carrera GT, and most recently a Lamborghini countach.
Seller paid nearly $16k for the "stock" car in March. It's interesting to see what they did to improve it - lots of little details once you get past the wheels and tires.

Auction is over, it did not hit reserve at $14k. The seller said he had $20k in it. He may have overpaid for the donor car.
I really like a lot of the details he brought to it. The new front lights in particular, but the modesty panel for the exhaust and the fuel filler help too. I think that if it were brought to a lower ride height and ran a smaller diameter tire - not Miata sized, but say 25" - it would be a great "lost italian track car" cosplay. But lifted + vintage Ferrari bodykit + 1922 Miata performance (or worse, is the gearing stock?) is a bit niche.
