after checking, nope, the mustang is both longer wheelbase and overall. VERY similar weights though.

How long have you had the badass R8? Have you posted driving impressions/ownership thoughts in any threads yet?

That picture made me say, "I never realized that an R-8 is as big as a Mustang!". I've seen plenty of Mustangs and know how big they are, but don't see many R-8s. Car looks good in that color.

it is really interesting how similar the roofline, side window shapes, 3/4 window / gas cap shapes, and trunk line are between these two.

I probably wouldn't have guessed they were so close.

I have the same complaint about the Camaro and Challenger. All very competent but geeez are they big and porky. Of course looking at some of the previous posts so is almost everything else these days.

R8 has the engine where the rear seats would be.

The perspective on that picture skews the impression of height difference.

Sounds like fun. With the V8 cars coming down in price I was wondering how they were. I did not expect the fuel economy! At least they put a big enough fuel tank in it to give it an acceptable range.

That picture makes the R8 appear to have a lot of front overhang. Is it the perspective of the shot? Seems like a lot of car ahead of the front wheels...more so than on the Mustang.
