On BABE rally last year a team had a leaky brakelight switch on their master which someone recommended they fix with JB weld. I ran down the road and got them the $8 switch instead. Seriously, brakes are not a place for improvised repairs.

I blew a rear brake line in my Golf one time. No time to fix it for a week, so I took a "flare pigtail" from another vehicle (do a lot of brake lines, I do) that would fit my car, cut the line off flush with the fitting, welded it shut, and popped it on the master cylinder. I didn't even have to bleed the system.

The scary thing is, it didn't feel any different in three-brake mode than four-brake. The rear brakes on those cars did basically nothing, which is why it felt so scary with half a brake system. I really wanted to get that other front brake working!

I heeded y'all's advice and bought a new caliper. I modified the brake line to fit, the problem was the mating block was too big, so I cut it down to fit properly No more leaks!

Thanks guys. 14 days 'til AX season starts 'round here, and I still need to get the panhard bar in there, see if my budget will allow for a torque arm, fix the oil leak (that I'm assuming is just loose pan bolts) and see how much "gentle massaging" will need to be done to ensure my 17x9s won't rub

Yes, I'm a horrible procrastinator.

14 days, you could rebuild your engine and repaint your car in that time, I mean work? family? Cars are life...
