Pssst.... I've still got that 350Z drivetrain for sale.
Driven5 said:I agree with Ross. The Skylines are neat, but unless I can get one in LHD, I'll pass. While they can be driven around their idiosyncrasies on RHD roads, to do so safely will inevitably require the at least occasional (and admittedly relatively mild) inconveniencing of yourself and others. At the very least, off the top of my head, with larger (slower) vehicles in front of you on two-lane roads or left hand turn lanes. Minor though it my be, it's an inconvenience that still just doesn't really seem worth it to me when there is no shortage of other interesting cars out the that require no such compromises. There is a reason that regardless of air, land, or sea, oncoming vehicles are always intended to pass each other with the person in control towards the centerline between the two...Of course, there's also my inherent aversion to the JDM-4-lyfe crowd, who reverently seek out RHD like it's some kind of holy grail.
Congrats on the car though! It looks great. I do otherwise generally like them, and am glad you're thoroughly enjoying yours.
The worst HPDE/Driving event crash in "recent memory" (meaning I'm aware of) at Sonoma was a guy driving (fantastic driver by all accounts ... well, until now) a RHD Civic HB that he wasn't used to and launched the car into the stands around 2/3 somehow.
