Was up in PA to pick up an engine-swap donor car. Nothing too exciting (e34 525i). But then I look back in his parking area and see these troopers, and they immediately made me think of all you GRM types that seem to love them. They're all the same year, same color, and in decent cosmetic condition (I didn't look inside). Not sure of mechanical condition. But....apparently the guy is selling them, "all together" for $1200 - so if someone here wants his contact, LMK. They're probably on craigslist in eastern PA.

If one of them were a 5spd you could probably light the other two on fire and it would still be a good deal. I drove a 5spd trooper of that gen on a 12 hour round trip, tow dolleying a car one way, and I thought it was a friggin fantastic vehicle.
I feel like in that first photo, that's what the cover art would look like if Isuzu Troopers had a rap album.
I'm not so sure I can trust the seller...
What's the towing capacity on these 2nd gen Troopers? 5k?

And I’m picturing all-3 cresting a sandy dune,airborne, while Iron Maiden’s “The Trooper” is blasting at max volume.
I actually owned one of those in that same color and it was a 5MT, I liked the power folding mirrors that helped fit it in the garage. Not bad off road, tough, slow.

I towed my CRX race car for a number of years behind my '96 Acura SLX Premium. Had almost all the bells and whistles. Towed pretty well and got reasonable mileage. New cost was $39k or so. Bought it on eBay for <$3000 and drove it home. I even attended an Isuzu meet with it once.

Ratings being whatever they are, i was towing about 3300lbs and it felt fine. I will say that most of the mods people do to 4wds (especially ones that aren't particularly powerful and have brakes to match) make them worse as tow vehicles.
