I recently got to drive a miata for the first time. The problem is, THIS was the miata I drove.
Now i fear that if i ever drive a real miata i will compare it to this, and it will feel like a Sebring convertible in comparison....
Its also the answer to the other thread about what to do with a miata stripped to the subframes. It was made by a good friend of mine. He built it then drove it 800 miles from GA to NY to visit.

Now, THAT, is awesome. All the style of a hot-rod/rat-rod, with the driveability of a Miata.
That should go in the magazine.
you MUST tell us more about this car. is there a build thread somewhere?
Now that is cool. I'm not usually a fan of rat rods - most of them are trying too hard - but that thing is awesome simply because it exists.
You just won the interwebz for the week.
Yes more, more text, more pictures, more!

With a full write up and possibly a moist towelette.
You know, I was just in Ithaca about a month ago. Where is your friend in Georgia?
looks like it uses both miata subframes (front and rear)
interesting...
It looks like the stock Miata radiator was used, just turned on end.WE NEED MORE PICTURES !!!!!
No matter what I do to my cars this weekend, there is no way anything can compare to this.
Hey, I have a Miata....
Really though, this is one my new favorite things.
I am calling it a MiatRod, what does the owner call it?
