Commence boredom.
Instrument panel. I still have to tidy up the wiring and cover the areas to either side.
8 gallon RCi cell.
Fuel pump installation.
Engine right side. Yeah, that's a 'po' man's Braille battery': a garden tractor battery, $25 at Wally World.
Engine left side. The radiator is a JEG's universal double pass and the oil cooler is a stock 2nd gen RX7.
Plans are to patch the big hole in the trans tunnel this weekend, then the rest of the fabrication stuff is just tidy up work.
But then comes the REAL work; tuning and sorting.
That's not boring, yet another thread about politics would be boring.
Cool. Needs more zip ties and duct tape. And "OBJECTS IN MIRROR..." what? I can't read the second line! Are covered in oil? Have camshafts? May not be real?
Looks great, what is it ?
You may have talked about it in a previous post I didn't see. Any pics a few steps back?
Ahh, the Spitfire. Cool!
A Ro-Spit could never be boring.
I believe this is the Jenson, not the spitfire.

I also have a "poor man's Braille" in the Miata for the simple fact that an automotive battery sized for the Miata was $100, or I could get the same thing with flag posts and a picture of a lawnmower on it for $20 :). Post adapters were $6 at NAPA.
So what are you going to do with it when it's done? Autocross, track, road racing? I am assuming it's not for the street based on the pics .

He's going to use it to go pick up his unemployment checks!! (Runs and hides from incoming missles)

... 'APPEAR TO BE LOSING.' I like that, it's staying.
This is the IT prepped Jensen Healey which suffered a driveshaft 'explosion'. I was given the rolling tub, I gladly drove to Cary NC to pick it up. It's going to be a dedicated autocross/hillclimb/TT car. I suppose I could make it street legal and go fart can huntin' Would you believe that there is no duct tape anywhere on this car at the moment? I guess I have to fix that.
Here's the rest of the car:
I should be the fastest unemployment-check-picker-upper in the state.
This is from when I picked up the car, there's a few build pics in there as well: http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/it-followed-me-home-mom/2668/page1/
Updates before the motor was firmly mounted:

I'm not a spinning triangles guy, but I always thought a SB Ford in one of those would be pretty much about right. Still, I'm digging this.
Did you notice the "sticker" slicks? This is one of them high roller cars I've heard about. Looking good, J-man!
Needs moar dual groove alternator pulley.
Just curious, but is that entire fuel system really on top of the exhaust or is it a just a trick of the camera angle?
In reply to minimac:
I've heard poor men make slicks from studded winter tires with duct tape inside out wrapped around them, with great results!!!! LOL Is that a variation of this?
Now I understand why you let the other car go...
I smell some epic goodstuff from this one, once you get it sorted!

I was wondering the same thing. I saw a frightening bit of fun on my car last weekend, as we were putting the engine/trans in, I saw where a buddy had patched up a hole in floorpan was directly above all the fuel lines!!!!!
It's the camera angle. The fuel filter is about 3" to the left of the exhaust, when the exhaust is really hot the fuel filter is about body temperature. I still plan to make a heat shield from 20 gauge aluminum sheet just to be on the safe side.
A bit more progress today. Here's the damage to the tranny tunnel done by the driveshaft 'explosion'.
I put off fixing that until the powerplant was in place and I knew it ran. So now that that's happened Toyman, my Spitfire owning buddy Warren and I got this accomplished today:
Competition debut closer and closer.
Looks very nice and something with spinning triangles is always good!
Were you in the car when that happened?! I'll bet that was a bowel evacuating moment.
I wasn't in it when the DS let go, the previous owner was and he said yes that's probably the most frightening thing he's ever experienced in racing. He said the right side of the seat was folded over on top of his leg.
