I think this is a bit sketchy but maybe it passes tech (SCCA hill climb) ?

The car is a NA Miata, the shoulder belts run through the seats and are mounted ( bolt, nut and fish plate) into the long bolt in pan behind the seats. This seems a bit thin IMO would (should it have) pass tech? The floor mounted parts have nice fish plates so I am not worried about them.

 

If the current system is not up to spec would the Hard Dog harness bar be suitable for SCCA tech?

Run through holes cut in the stock seats or through proper race seats with harness guides?

 

When you say the "bolt in pan", do you mean the sheet metal cover that goes over the fuel tank?  If so that sounds really iffy.

Nope.

hill climb rules are typically a bit more restrictive than autocross or even road racing rules when it comes to safety equipment like that.

it isn’t attached to a proper roll bar/cage, don’t use it.  Use the stock 3-point belts with a seat belt lock solution.
