My NA is stock, but I've always been impressed with the sound. Nice induction roar, nice sounds on lift-throttle, etc. etc. Well, that's all gone now! I just spend 3 miles following a Ferrari F430. It was all slow going (nomore than 35 mph) and low revs but my goodness did it sound beautiful!!! How can such low speed and low revs sound good enough to make me happy in my pants?
Then sitting behind it at a light, looking through the mesh rear cover at the titanium muffler and the difuser panel. Oh man, I need a few hundred thousand now!
Thanks for listening, I knew you'd understand.
There's only one car in the world that's louder than a Ferrari at full trot... a rotary. Ask me how I know? I love 430's and 360's and 550's and 288 GTO's and and and... OK, I'm a Ferrari fanboy.
Klze uncorked? VR6 uncorked?
The KLZE would sound much better if it were attached to a lighter car and allowed to swing to its full potential.
KLZE Miata would be a good answer.
I would certainly hope for the price of an F430 that it sound as good as your lovers screams (or moans whichever you prefer)

Agree on the VR6. I had a Corrado with a worked head, cams and an open Borla exhaust. Going under a bridge or next to a concrete divider at 7k rpm was a riot.

Doing that in a VTEC Honda (with a good quality exhaust) at 8k is also a riot.
I had the opportunity to ring a 328 GTS out a little. That was a very cool experience and a great sound. Much like the first time I ever drove on my own. Terrifying, thrilling and wonderful all at once.
One of the reasons I like Top Gear so much is that they don't hide the noises of the cars. Top Gear actually awards the car with the best noise a special award, how cool is that?

A KLZE swapped MX3 or MX6 isn't really all that heavy.... but fine.
Here you go!
KLZE Powered Miata
Ferrari 355 at full song, ive had to change my pants too many times to that sound...
My 5MGE gets many nice comments, just wish it had the balls to back up the sound it makes.

Sometimes I brave the airport traffic just so I can drive through the (short) tunnel with the top down in my Miata. Actually, the first night I got my MR2 running and on the road for a test drive I took it to the airport tunnel.

Agree! My friend has a '97 Jetta GLX that we threw a cone air filter on and deleted the resonator from and it sounds amazing.
I find most italian cars uncorked sound great... even the lowly Fiat 500 with a megaphone exhaust can make somebody happy.
The only italian car I know of that did not sound good was a 4 banger ferrari made under a different name "ASA"?
It kept the same sequential flat plane firing order as the big engined ferraris.. it made a sound that was described as being like a flatulant cow

I enjoy the 2-stroke pop of early SAABs. One day I'll own one.

^^I love the smell of 2-stokes as well.
Last week I was following an Austin Healey 3000, downhill, through a nice section of winding road. That thing sounded wonderful - a deep bellow, with pops and crackles on the overrun.
I recall the coolest engine sound personally witnessed. It was about 10 years ago, in Rapid City, SD. I was walking into a fast food joint, when I heard it. The big block. In a black primered 66 El Camino. Think Two Lane Blacktop with a bed. Shaking like a dog crapping razor blades. Bregglgegregg-BraaAaaApppp... Awesome. It was so loud and nasty, they had to turn it off, as it was scaring the drive through girl. When they fried it back up, a family with about 3 kids were walking by. The shear terror on the kid's faces...

Oh man!!! Did the 5sfe sound AWESOME!?!?!?
I'm a Toyota guy through and through.... but those damn S-series motors are HORRIBLE sounding to my ears. Even the 3sgtes. I hate it.
Alfa-Romeo four cylinder at full throttle. Perfect combo of intake, exhaust and timing chain noise.

That's how I feel about my G13B. Sounds so viscious, deep, visceral....then puts down 89hp at the frt wheels....
I think my vote for sexiest exhaust note goes to the Vanquish.

I'm a big fan of the sound a supercharged miata makes. I don't have one yet, but that high pitched wine with an open exhaust sounds great. Even though I'm not a honda guy, I do love the inake sounds a vtec makes.

You guys don't live in Trabant country.
My old 86 FC + parking garage = car alarm hilarity. I use to see just how many I could get going while I was "looking" of a spot.
I forgot. What about an uncorked 911 at full song. That shredding metal exhaust note that only a 911 makes is just wonderful
