Tommy speakin of turbine engines , i was lookin at some in Wisconsin couple weeks back, 1850hp at 80% continuous, shaftdrive into a hydraulic trans, actually quite small and lite for the output , lighter than a big block chevy.
I think we will see more of same, as used military stuff comes available.
Duramax, chip, intake, injectors, dual CP3s, monster exhaust, and a turbine housing swap. Easy 1000, perfectly streetable, and can still tow 20,000 lbs while getting 12 mpg.

I'm sure it's a repost. Diesel is definitely the way to go.
A bit more spray or fuel/boost and the 1k mark would be easily surpassed.
This talk of crazy modded diesel makes me think that it would be easy to shut Clarkson up about how slow they are

Ford has built a couple of AWD 800bhp Fiesta's
That would be close enough for me
There are Cummins 6BTs laying down 1800 hp and 2400 lb-ft of torque AT THE WHEELS these days.
My dad has a Dmax, and with just intake, chip, and exhaust he's putting 425hp and 900+ tq to the tires.
MrJoshua... CP3 is the name of the fuel pump that supplies the fuel rail. It is only enough to support 500hp or so. They sell kits with dual stock or modified CP3s to double your potential for fuel supply.
