What are some nice sounding oem horns?
I don't want something loud like the hella supertones. I just want something classy and manly.

Go to a junkyard and start pulling horns from every big Yank tank you can find. I got my last haul for about $1 each. I think the Mercury Montego was the one I ended up using, but if I could find a place to mount the three horns from my 1966 Cadillac that would be the winner.

Neat!
I put these on my rx8 when the stock one died http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3Dx_LeW3quUJQ&v=x_LeW3quUJQ&gl=US
Yep. Old US made land yachts had about the biggest and best sounds.
Beware though, those buggers are huge.
I used the dual high/low tone set-up out of a late '80s Taurus in my old Saturn, it was loud enough to wake the dead. Made a cool perfect fifth, too. {/music geek}
I liked the dual baritones on my old jeep j-300 pickup. It scared the hell out of everyone, even within the vehicle.
They might not have been stock...
Try to get dual horns though...
Of all the GM horns available, I think some of the most impressive are attached to this vehicle:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KaBnLrLKuXw
Big American cars in the yard should work for you. I have a small pump anda nice dual cone truck horn in the grille of my F150. Thinking about doing that to the escort as well.

I would NOT suggest anything from any Toyota or Mazda.
I will, however, guarantee that a Mazda pair of horns with the "low" horn disabled will make you pee with laughter.

Old dual horn 70's caddies also had awesome sound.
The funny thing is that e28 5 series BMW horns already sound a lot like a typical US car horn - they aren't very 'european'.
As a thread jack, how could I replicate the horn sound from a mid-80s 911? Always my favorite sounding horn.

Get a horn from a mid-80s 911?
