Shades of the time GM claimed they were going to demonstrate their environmental commitment by... changing their logo from blue to green.
I'm hoping this is an April Fools joke. It is likely to draw jokes regardless.
This GM article is from July 9th 2009 or 11.5 years ago. It's safe to say they decided to stay with blue
Cant fix something just re brand it. Oldest trick in the marketing departments play book.
I've heard very, very few Americans say, "Volkswagen." It usually sounds like Voltswagon.

You know I really have nothing against electric cars but when someone comes up with this barf-fest pandering nonsense I really do want it to be a flop. Granted I have a visceral reaction to anything that remotely resembles trendy.
I mean, what happens if the market shifts to using methane fired generating stations...............gonna change the name to Fartswagen?

Yep... management took longer to spot this case of pointless literal greenwashing than everyone else, but they did find it in time to avoid that particular mistake.

So do we work on e-names for the other car companies? General Motors could become General Electric. (It has a nice ring to it.)
Hyundai could take all of tesla's old ideas and become edison.

Very funny VW. Now maybe you could work towards making more reliable vehicles (without cheating emissions and, all too often, always illuminated CELs). Meanwhile, any name change by VW should be done to get away from the antiquated 'folks and wagon' badge.
