The hot, yet economical, EV hatch category seems lacking. This concept by VW, the ID. EVERY101, seems to possibly fit that void. Better yet, the price is 20,000 euros (roughly $21,500 USD). Gotta dig that price. Too bad it seems destined for just Europe.

Sounds great apart from the 81 mph governor and 94 horsepower output. 99 mph and 140 horsepower would be great in this.

It's an interesting idea for that size and price point, but I'll take a "wait and see" approach to see what actually hits the market.

I really hope that EV GTI concept shown a while ago hits the market sooner rather than later.

For that matter, the new EVs for $21000 category is severely lacking, at least in the US. How big is it - are we talking small like a BMW i3, or makes a Fiat 500 look big?

I just bought a 2020 etron for 18,500. Yes, it has 60,000 miles- but it drives like a new one and has over 200 miles range. It also does 0-60 in 5 seconds and 130mph I think. That's the ev of the people, a used one.

The Alpine that may be coming to the US is supposed to be about 200hp in a GTI sized package.  Mk2/3 GTI that is.

This is possibly why VW is showing off this guy, although it looks like the Alpine will be 2x as much.

That's a lot of car for the money. Audi interiors are a nice place to spend time. And 200 mile range is plenty. Our i3 only had ~70 miles of range (without the REX) and it was a great city car.
