Hey everyone- I was looking for some advice. I am thinking about selling my very nice 1991 sentra se-r. The car is in very nice original condition. I have done some very nice tasteful upgrades. It shown here in readers rides.

The cars don't have much resale value and a limited audience. I was trying to get your ideas on the best venue to advertise it. The sr20 forums are full of young people who have their own ideas of what's nice.

Thanks in advance- Cory

I don't think that it takes much to sell one....just list it.

I have always found that forums are the best place to sell things. You have to set a higher price than normal, though, because someone will ALWAYS lowball you.

Not a ton of help, but what are you asking for it, how many miles, and any rust?

I still would not miss putting it onto craigslist as well.

Maybe list it on G20 forums as well (if there is such a thing.)

The car has 113,000 miles now. I am the second owner. It has no rust anywhere. No rust is next to impossible with these cars. I listed it on the sr20forum for 5,000 to weed out the low ballers, but haven't gotten any interest. I do need to take some better pictures.

It is just challenging to find someone who is looking for a nice 20 year old sentra.

Wow,

You're not going to sell a super clean SE-R on here for $5k when you have find decent ones for 1500-2000 and for a grand make it as nice as yours just with a bigger odo number.

I think this car could sell to the right buyer, given his location. They're pretty common down here in TN (the plant where they were built is here!), and we don't get much rust. I'd imagine one that clean is very difficult to find in New England though.

Finding a decent b13 for cheap is like finding the proverbial needle in a haystack. Most of these are total crap boxes by now. When craigslook worked, I saw very few 91-94 cars for sale across the country.

It would take a lot more than a grand (in parts alone) to match the upgrades that I have. The shocks and struts could fetch $600 by themselves.

It is kind of like finding a nice similar vintage civic si or crx about now.

Are the only other ones I know of, other than local sport compact forums you may have.

Having looked myself, I can attest that the OP is right. These cars are not to be found in nice shape. They're all rusted. If they haven't been attended to, they also have the broken sunroof, sagging doors, and 5th gear popout that is endemic.

It's worth what someone will pay for it. I doubt you'll get 5k. $4k is possible. Personally, if I were looking for one and I had the money, I might go as high as 3.5. FWIW, I'm a cheapskate.

i would suggest not mentioning the word "lowballer" in your add, I will never buy anything from someone who says that, because to me it means the person will be insulted if you offer the same price everyone else is selling whatever it is for, so I figure its better to not annoy the seller and talk to someone with a more reasonable priced item.
