If your designing a new suspension what steps do you go through to determine overall design philosophy and what dimension or variable do you feel is most important.
Are there any big differences between what works on a high downforce car(F1, LMP) and a low downforce car(production based body)?
Is one style of car more forgiving of mistakes than the other? For example if a spring or shock choice is off or the suspension geometry isn't quite right will downforce magnify those problems or does the extra traction mask them.
Do you think the future of high-performance suspension is a system similar to the McLaren P1 - where hydraulics control how the suspension moves and the spring rate is chosen purely on ride comfort?
