Came here to post the IMSA Cougar. Happy to see someone already did.
I'll post a picture of it anyway. This one is a V8 car which I believe actually made less horsepower than the turbo-4 version. The hood scoop gives it away along with different exhaust outlets. I think this one was either leased or sold to a customer team who ran this vivid yellow and pink livery in 1990. The factory Roush entries were typically the turbo-4 cars at sprint races, but they used the V8 in 12 and 24 hour races.
And more tubeframe goodness.
Even some non-Fords.
Another one, although this one only goes straight:

Turn of the century NASCAR Craftsman truck
There's plenty more, but these two always jumped out on my 'when I win the lottery' list.

Anything from the original Trans Am series.
Lol, with my meager skillz I think most of the stuff in this thread would end up looped into a wall by the first corner if I tried to drive it in anger.
I wouldn't turn down a go in Jim Clark's Cortina though...

So many great responses so far! I would have a hard time deciding, but the top three are:
250 GTO, because of the noise, the style, the ultimate gentleman's race car, the last of the streetable competitive race machines, and the rarity, and did I mention the noise?
The Lancia 037, because of a fixation of mine since a childhood me became aware of these, because of the outlandish drifts, the supercharger noise, and the last competitive RWD rally car at the top international level, even giving the Audi Quattro some difficulty:
70's RA40 TTE Celica rally car because N/A longitudinal RWD four-cylinder screamers have been my personal preference for most of my life, and I'm a Toyota fan, but could just as easily be anything Group 4 like a Fiat Abarth 131, Sunbeam Lotus Talbot, Escort RS1800, etc.

A Mallock Mk28 starter kit for sale
This
Maybe doesn't have provenance of so many others, but I still really like it.
Depends on how I am feeling
Mercedes W125 if I want to see what 595bhp feels like in something built in the 30s.
Or a Spoon Sports Civic for something I actually have a chance of using the potential of.
I forgot to include these in my first post.
In my defense, the list was compiled over a fairly long period of time.
I'd like one of Senna's McLarens, even though I couldn't drive it to 1/10th of it's potential.

My choice too. Make it a memorable and unique as possible. On that note

787B is an easy choice, but I'd like to try an open top 4 rotor. Preferably without the restrictor they had to use in ALMS.
'67 STP Paxton turbine Indy car.
Mstrbeau got really close to my first choice with the Lola Mk1, my choice being the Lola Mk2 F.Junior. The blue car in the pic below, red is Elva 100.
Auto Union Type C. Just the normal one, not the hillclimbing dually or the streamliner.
68 427 Mustang coupe. Because it's basically only just a street car on greasy tires.
probably this since dad was involved and it convinced the FIA to change the course at two famous races

A girl that I graduated with, her mom used to be the secretary for Hagan at Stratagraph (If I remember correctly).
I have a 1/32nd scale 'pullback' car that closely resembles this car. It's painted more like Terry LaBonte's 1984 Piedmont Airlines colors (driving for Hagan) than this though.

More details on this? I'm guessing chicanes got added because of too much straight line speed?

Well, that is one way through the corkscrew.
I will admit to have taken that line a few times while sim racing but never on purpose.

I met Mr. Hagan a few times. My dad was on the crew, and was Tom Williams crew chief for his other racing. Terry Labonte asked for him to be the 3rd driver since he raced Terry hard on the small tracks in TX and always did well at TWS on the road course.
