What's the value of an '87 Yugo with a mere 1,800 miles - and factory a/c??
Here's one for sale near me, with the price listed as "Inquire". Please note that The Auto Collection is known for it's stratospheric pricing.

That's definitely one of those "whatever someone is willing to pay for it" kind of deals.
They are rare. Yes. They have a small but dedicated following. Yes But neither of those make them valuable.
The guys that are into these got into them because they are cheap fun, not because they are interesting in any way in their stock form.
Kinda like what happened with the VW market. For a long time you bought beetles because they were cheap, easy to work on cars. The folks that bought them for that reason are not the same people who are now paying $$$ for fully restored models. Its a whole new market of people, the cheap guys (like me) still want the cheap versions, not a big money resto.
The difference with the Yugo is that new secondary market of people willing to pay $$$ for nostalgia is not and probably will not ever be there.

That's the number I'd go with. Looks like it's probably the nicest Yugo in the world right now.
One time, I almost bought a Yugo with 11,000 miles on it for $250. Nice inside, clean engine bay, but rusty as all hell.
so is someone going to call them and inquire so we can laugh at the price that will most certainly be significantly over market value, so we can laugh about the fact they wont get anywhere near their asking price?

There is a guy on the Yugo board with a later Yugo GV with an automatic and 18000 miles. He is asking for $3500.

So it was exactly as it was when it left the factory...damn, that's worth at least $299.99

Now now...a Yugo's natural state is not rust. Mine spent it's entire life in the northeast and was pulled out of a junkyard to build but there's not a speck of rust on it.
A Yugo's natural state is broken....

Even if it were worth that now (which I question), 10,000 miles of actual use would decimate its value. Is there a museum that might want a nice Yugo to put on display in its "Worst Cars Ever" collection?
I know, I know - opinions are like a......
They will definitely want a 4 digit number, likely approaching or perhaps getting into a 5 digit number, considering its a museum grade car.

This, they were well rustproofed from the factory, galvanized, waxoiled cavities and PVC undercoated. How many people ever washed their Yugo? The rear strut towers, bumper mounts, and seat mounts are the only places that are prone to rust, all sandwiched metal deals, and easy to fix. That and the trans mount area from battery acid damage, but people deal with much worse from crap battery placement in old 911s.
Mine is usually not broken, after I fixed most of the POs berkeley ups, working speedo and high beams are all that remain. Of course, I haven't got a heater box, or any emissions equipment left on mine. Currently down due to a failed coil cooking the Bosch ignition module.

Mine is rusted in all those plus the rear hatch and floor pans.

Are they wide enough to fit the front end of an MX6... in the back?

I can get that for you on Saturday.

With flares anything is possible. If a 500ci caddy motor fit, your MX motor will fit and there was a 2.2 turbo dodge in the front of this one which was later replaced with a 2nd 500ci caddy motor so you've got a long way to go for Yugo legend status ;)

Yeah, I pretty much think I'm gonna hafta go jet engine to top that one. But I'm gunning for YugoDave's record before I do an engine swap. He currently has the fastest natually aspirated Yugo at 14.1 seconds. I think I can beat it, he taught me everything I know and I've learned a few tricks of my own ;)
To be honest I'd love to own the vehicle here just to add to the collection of freak cars, it would be nice to have a stock Yugo to go with the YFH. Could even use it to tow the YFH to local events ;) If I had expendable income like that I'd go $2000 on that one. If I was going into big money I'd hold out for a Cabrio.
