Dyno queen? Well that $3,000 Peterbuilt somebody posted the otherday aughta be able to BREAK some dynos.
Sleeper? Your typical well-loved northern-state 1st gen Forester, stickers, roof rack, the works... massively built STi drivetrain. AWD means you could get away with less suspicious tires, too.
My MS3 is a bit of a sleeper. It rarely gets a second glance from the cops, ricers, or other drivers. I get plenty of looks from the normals when I romp on the throttle, though.
But this takes the cake for a sleeper, IMHO. The ricey bits (wheels, headlights, lip, etc.) fit in fine since I live next to Ghetto-Rice Central, but I would toss 'em and paint the car beige were I to live anywhere else.

Not in a Miata, I'm afraid. Or, the engine might but the turbos wouldn't. Which I suspect would take some of the fun out of it.
Anyone who wants to see an LS Miata with a supercharger - send money.

Would it look something like this?
I would build a twin-engine Hyundai. I know its been done before but this looks like so much fun.
The hoonage at the end was done by putting one transmission in drive and the other in reverse.
I'd buy the truck a local guy has. It's one of those 454 SS Chevy trucks. I'm sure you've seen one... But it's got a 540-something ci motor with a pair of turbos mounted in the bed, under a louvered bedcover. It's a 4000+ lb. truck that I've seen run 9.80's in the quarter, and drive on the street, too. In fact, it still has A/C and a radio. It's a nice truck!

Oh God, that's good.
In keeping with the Subaru theme, I've been hankering for a stock-bodied mid-'80s GL wagon with an ITB'd Toyota 1UZ small block and rear drive. I'm curious what it'd cost to have the stock white 13x5 wagon wheels upsized to 15x7. grin

I endorse this product and/or service.
i can think of endless fun sleepers to build but one cool one that comes to mind is to build up an old maxima with a vg30. i know those motors are STOUT and i like the idea of putting down 300+ in a maxima. did those have intermediate axle shafts, or will torque steer make me jump lanes?
Of course....
I also want to take a 2 door Chevette, especially one with mis-matched doors, half rotted hatch, and maybe a mis-matched hood or fender....
And drop in the suzuki H27a v6....with a turbo.
Yeah....ridiculous, I know.
I'm pretty happy with my stupid 19 year old 4wd mazdog protege, built slightly beyond the limits of the infamous gearbox, it puts down something in the 320 hp range at 23 psi. Pulling the trigger on that 600 hp honduh must be a total laugh riot
But I knew cold even before I finished reading the first post that Keith was gonna put up what I think is one of the ultimate sleepers...gotta save my pennies for that one.
I keep thinking that doing it in a FWD car couldn't work out too well though. Any tire that lets you actually USE the power is going to throw your sleeper effect right out the window!
Appleseed wrote: ...Are we talking dyno queens or sleepers?
That's what I was going to ask. If it's "stock appearing", then you guys wanting to put 600 hp in something with 155/75-14 tires on it are wasting your time.
If it's a "dyno queen" it implies all that's cared about is peak power. There's plenty of those videos on YouTube.
Yeah, I'm confused, sounds like you want ideas for the coolest sleeper dyno queen? In that case take any old E36 M3ty car, truck van, insert massive powerplant, add compound turbocharging, and blam, insanity...

Beat me to it. The videos of that car are scary as berkeley. That dyno result was on the old setup without the supercharger i believe.
I don't like the front lip, but it's not rice, though. That's the actual TRD lip that was used on the factory Camry Touring Cars.
There's also a late 80s 4 door camry running around with full ST205 Celica GT4 running gear under it, though i can't find pictures of it right now.
And just because these things are hilarious.... here's some more lulz:

Nope it's a Zetec but I got my huge gains from a bolt-on. A PowerWorks supercharger!

THat's what I like about Saabs that accelerate well. Performance where it counts most for street use (merging on the highway for example).
For a dyno queen... meaning she rules......
Get me a Banks Racing tuned diesel - upwards of 1000hp and 1500#/ft of torque
I always thought that an easy, cheap sleeper recipe would be:
1) Buy lightly wrecked SRT-4 2) Replace wing/hood/fascia with stock neon parts (think you'd have to ditch the FMIC, as well) 3) Paint beige 4) ??? 5) Profit.

That's either a typo or crazy-wrong gearing. 666 hp and only 6-sec 0-60?! Since it appears to be a top-speed sort of car, I'll assume it's for real, but after all that work and money, it must suck losing stoplight Grand Prixs with dead stock Mustangs, lol.
