My wife, daughter and I are going to orlando and fort meyers from the 1st to the 10th. Unfortunately I have to go to a wedding during the challenge. To keep the trip from being a total waste, I figure if I can find a car for her while in florida, I can drive it home and get something that hasn't experienced a canadian winter and is likely less expensive than buying one at home.
The criteria:
min 4 seats (I already have 3 miata)
rust free
5 speed (if it's a car that's at all fun)
10k or less
Reliable enough to drive home to canada
So far she's on board for an e36 m3, or a first gen scion xb. I could probably talk her into other stuff.
Let me know if you have anything or know of anything awesome
Stop in Atlanta. That's where all the good stuff is.

^I do have a rental car with unlimited mileage.
She's also partial to wagons. Especially volvo wagons.
Hit atlanta for sure. And grab me a rust free Starlet while you're there.
I drove to Gainesville just this morning and realized I could probably spend a week or more touring the various used car lots there. It really does seem like there are cars and trucks everywhere there, and all prices.
Try Craigs in Gainesville, Jacksonville, Orlando, and Daytona (I can't say I've ever looked at the last 2 lists, tho.) That will at least give you and idea, as well as Autotrader.com for these areas.
We've got a 4x4 Geo Tracker for sale...
.We have a 93 325is for $1800 in Chattanooga.
There's an '05 outback XT limited with manual for sale in the DC area, if you want to make a trip up this direction. 110k and $10.5k. Looks like its in perfect shape.
1999 e36 M3 in Ft. Myers - $6500
19979 e36 M3 near Orlando - $8500
That second one is a little fishy, but if it were to check out, would be a nice find given that it's a four door.
stop in detroit and i'll sell you my '03 mazda6 sport (V6, stick, silver over black leather, no rust, just hit 150k miles, 2nd owner with all papers since new) for $6500 US, including a spare set of rims with Pilot Alpins (17" aftermarket) or WInterSport 3D (16" probe GT).
It isn't a stick, or a 4 seater, but I'll sell you one hell of a pretty Mercedes for a bargain price! I've been driving around lately, and it is pretty darn nice......in a sedate, mellow kinda way! With the 4.5 liter it does get up and go though.
Joe, if he doesn't buy it, what kinda money are you looking for? I've thought those were one of the sexiest cars I've ever seen the first time I saw one.
