The Esprit burnt down to the ground on the way home. E36 M3 happens.

I'll post a pic, but I'm having beer right now.

I think they are running a Wheeler Dealer episode on that model tomorrow night (or some time coming up) on Wednesday on Velocity. I wonder if they will talk about that little issue?

Was the car in motion at the time, or was this one of those spontaneous Lotus combustion incidents?

Was driving home, power went down, starting making exhaust noise, I was almost home, flames started, pulled over, hit with 2 fire extinguishers, AMF.

My hair smells of burnt fiberglass.

Was the origin electrical or mechanical?

Yeah, had Hagerty. Called them up while the fire department was still hosing it down. They called the wrecker. Or sweeper, as the case may be. Don't think it was electrical. It was burning at the back where there's no wires, just the cat.

Having run a burn unit, I'm real glad there was no skin involved as well. Saved the brief case and the nine mike mike. Everything else is gone.

Had a college room mate that had an El Camino burn up on the side of the road like that. Didn't get a chance to save his term paper it happened so fast. Telling the Professor that story is a little like saying your dog ate it.
