What do you do with this?

wow, that's intense. What would someone do with a car like that?
Edit: I don't care what they would do, it would be awesome.
I know it's sacreligious, but I want to throw a TT SBC at it, and stick plates on that sumbitch and drive it to work. Just to make peoples heads spin.
I wouldn't want to drive such a flashy (though pretty) car around. I'd try for twin turbo LS3 and paint it white or something.

I wouldn't stop playing with myself.
You got to go with a Porsche turbocharged flat-6 with the 6 speed. It is a Porsche 917 race car after all.
I would autocross it, do time trials, and hillclimbs with it at least.
There's Heartland in Topeka, Hallett down in Oklahoma, and then I'm not sure where else you go with this thing. I thought these cars had a bit more instrumentation and other such things going on in the interior.
Curious how this car came together and if it was owner built or not.
How does somebody decide craigslist is the place to sell that? Unless they are looking to trade for paintball stuff or crappy car audio equipment.
I wonder if that's this kit. Seems a pit pricey without an engine though. I would just drool all over it though so it's no use to me.
How does someone get that far down a build and then remember that they forgot to fit an engine and transmission?
If you DID buy this, and then spent the money to buy a drivetrain, what assurance do you have that it will fit withoug having to fabricate into the nice frame and bodywork?
I see rolling billboard, not Porshe 917. All that $$$ would only buy disdain from the Porshe crowd at any event you show up.

Being a rolling billboard is kinda how racecar sponsorship works. Its a dsmn gorgeous billboard though

You say that like it is a bad thing.

Just put an Audi V10 in it like this guy did and you won't have to worry.

Definitely a turbo flat six. But autocross would be a waste. These cars were meant to do laps around the clock, not doodle around in a parking lot. I'd run it at Thunderhill in the 25
I met someone through the PCA region I instruct with that is building his own 917 from scratch but using a 600+hp Katech (I think) engine. He said a proper flat 12 would cost deep into the 6 figures and need to be rebuilt too often.
Oh...he plans on making it street legal!
