You have a problem with that P71 I've owned about 15 and never got less than 19mpg which was very badly out of tune. That said install a Mustang T5 in the Vic and never be concerned with a fun DD again
Mk2 gtis (at least most of them) run like crap, and the shifter linkage is so bad you cant even figure out what gear its in. They honestly kinda suck unless you put alot of work into them.
im just looking for anything now although a late model 4by Ranger is appealing even though MPG is iffy.

Are you driving in anger the whole time? The worst we ever got when we had our Vic was 13 with a boat, or 15 in -35* weather.
