I'm putting together some presentations and need a little background on the history of indoor karting. When did it start becoming popular in Europe? In the US?

How fast is it growing? I seem to see 2 or 3 indoor tracks starting every year around the country.

Thanks!

? I'm more interested in indoor rental karts, not pro racing stuff. Thanks though! It is something to reference too.

2-3 around the country a year? I think that Autobahn (a karting local karting place) seems to be opening a location every 6-12 months.

I think it got its start in UK or Europe but haven't done the google fu.

I would think that concession stand karting started first, which could have taken place indoor or outdoor and would travel with the carnivals.
