The cars, a 2.4 Pontiac Solstice and a 2002 (my bad) Honda Civic Si. The track is the pocono road course. The Solstice is on carbotech brakes, 265 yokohama a052 tires, otherwise stock power wise. The Civic is on 215 RE71RS tires, EBC pads, also stock power wise. Solstice driver has a lot more seat time on the pocono track, but only two days on it in this solstice. Civic driver was one day of seat time at pocono. So who you got?
SCCA would class both cars in Sport 6 but because of the size of the tires on the solstice it moves up in class so i'm going to infer that means that the pontiac will carry more speed. It also sounds like the solstice driver has more track experience and since both cars are in the same class a better driver will overcome any other advantages between two comparibly close cars.
In reply to ClearWaterMS :
The solstice is going off the alternative classing rules for S6 and is CS legal. Thus the tire width.

Solstice, mostly due to tires, aero, and suspension geometry. Thr Solstice track car I had for a while was surprisingly quick out of the box, while that generation Civic Si is pretty half baked, assuming you mean the 2002-2005 version as there was no 2001 Si
First of all, there is no 2001 Civic Si. There was a 2000 with the B16A2 and a 2002 with the K20A3 everyone hates. 2001 was a gap year between generations.
Second, I think that's irrelevant as the Solstice would probably walk all over either Civic even without factoring in the more experienced driver. Solstice has more power and more torque than either Si and, in this case, a LOT more tire...

What year is that EP3 model that is like UK version? With the shifter in the center.
In reply to ClearWaterMS :
If a car is legal for any scca street class, it can follow that guideline instead of the respective sport class rules. So in street class you can pinch a tire on a stock wheel. The solstice is also illegal stock in S6 technically since it comes with 245 tires.

2002-2005. And they are known for their crappy engine and really crappy suspension. It would not be much of a competition in this case.
I'd give the advantage to the Solstice all day.
Also, I never knew that the SCCA TT rules had an alternate set of rules for Autocross classing. That's pretty neat, albeit confusing.

It's an attempt to bridge the gap between autox and time trials.
If both cars turn their headlights on when they reach light speed, will they do anything?
