I had another thread asking about them but no one seemed to know, I found some other sites with info, mostly on pirtate 4x4 and had a concrete coring company out this morning, the end result:
which becomes:
which when I add my come-along becomes:
and then I add some tow straps:
(it reaches all the way to the street)
The rationale for this is I have a 15-20% grade driveway, and the Merkur when it blows it's engine isn't going to like getting in:
but the real reason is far more nefarious, hopefully Monday I'll have some 'interesting' pictures to post
Are you going to attach it the house across the street and pull it off the foundation?
It's probably for the best my house doesn't have one of those.

$26 + $10 shipping from Auto Body Toolmart: http://www.autobodytoolmart.com/champ-floor-anchor-pot-1600-p-11538.aspx + $245 to have the concrete cored (Rockcrete USA), I had the straps and come along, so the only thing I was out was the extra chain, hook and link, about $15. I have a feeling my wife is going to hate me for installing it
$245 to have the hole drilled WOW! You could not find one to rent?
Heck you should have put 5 in. 4 corners and dead center.
Nice work

I love that you used "Merkur when it blows it's engine" instead of "if"

I agree, but the equipment is a $2500-4000 drill plus stand and the bits are like a hundred bucks, I couldn't find any local store that had them, it's pretty much specialty equipment, maybe someone's got one, but I couldn't find one local, plus I've drilled concrete before, and I vowed never ever ever to do it again. Even with the press you can egg out the hole, or worse, dry out the bit and shatter things. I figured for that price I'd let someone else mess up with insurance experience to fix it
I didn't realize coring was that valuable. Otherwise I would have borrowed the one from my old job on weekends! It was one of our more fun tools though.

Every place I called was 200-300 but these guys were licensed, insured, and guaranteed their work, yes I could have had more holes drilled for that price but honestly I only wanted the one anchor to get cars in, after that, they're inside Thunderdome
At that price i don't blame you for just one. but what are you going to do when you need crash repair / pulling?
I guess i'm just cheap, taylor rent around here rent them with mag bases.
But you know i don't have any....my home garage has a POS floor, busted up in large chunks..

Let a pro shop fix it, hopefully via insurance, that's why I have it afterall...
