If you read the books by Horsman and Wyer about the GT40 days, it seemed that Porsche was their own worst enemy. Gulf Racing had three cars. Porsche built dozens every year and never seemed to race the same one twice. They were constantly dealing with problems in the new cars instead of working out the bugs.
