I mentioned in some other thread that I had used 3M Heavy Duty 90 spray adhesive to glue the vinyl inserts back on my mustang doors. Well, the edges are peeling again. Can anyone recommend a brush on, or non-spray adhesive for interior vinyl? I really don't feel like pulling the door panels and redoing the whole thing. I think If I can glue down the edges it will hold fine.

3M 90 works great but you have to use it correctly. Give it 30 seconds to set up, then stick the parts together, and pull them apart a few times. Doing this helps the glue form longer polymer chains and increased the strength several fold. It's a pain when using it on cloth, but it's the only way to make it stick.

I've read that HH-66 is about the only adhesive that will keep vinyl stuck to something.

The spray stuff is crap. You can actually spray it in a closed room and not get a buzz. Buy the good old yellow stuff in a can if you can find it. Toluene is the indicator of the good stuff.

The good news is if you read the warning label, only people in California seem to get cancer from the stuff!

Weldwood Landau Top Adhesive works.

Mobile Solutions will sell it in 1 gallon buckets. It is usually in 5 gal.

Contact Cement. I've use the weldwood brand to install 2 convertible tops. Brush on both surfaces, allow to dry and press together.

The guy that taught me interiors uses Weldwood brand contact cement. He thinks it is the best you can get in small DIY quantities. The pros use better stuff but they buy larger quantities. Brush on should work for you purpose. Coat both sides then let it dry then a second coat and let set up till tacky then stick together. Would help to somehow clamp it in place till the glue dries. Don't hurry.

if you didn't know i was a carpenter/contractor you would think this is funny, but i used liquid nails to glue the fabric back on the door panels in my truck. about 8 years ago and still perfect.

And Mazda taught me to adore double sided tape. Not foam, tape.
