+1. I like this. With a roll bar for doing TT events.

Titan V8? What happens when racing drivers go drifting? But most importantly non staggered tires and stock body work

I can get down with a 350Z BSP build. It looks nasty.

To be honest - No. Many of us don't have the time nor desire to go digging through junkyards for parts that might be worth using.

...and some of us will ONLY be able to afford to build a car if we go that route. YMMV.

Please, no turbos. Leave the engine alone beyond easy bolt on's.

Turbos are pretty easy to bolt on.

I'd be down for a centricharger...

Count me in with the reliable track day/dd caucus. I could be wrong, but I'd gander that's what your Z-owning readership would be most likely to emulate. While I'm sure lots of people may have them as a spare fun car, everybody I've ever known that has one it is their one-and-only car. I think a tasteful all-arounder would generate more interest.

Some other points:

  • While an autocross or two would be interesting, a full-on BSP build will likely make the car dd-unfriendly.
  • Also, no turbos - not really serving reliability as a daily or on track. It's not like the engine needs a lot more power anyway.

I believe GRM acquired Nissan Sport / Sport Z magazine... right? (Edit, duh - that's what Tom said at the beginning!)

On the 350Z, the issue stuck in my mind is about the tire feathering thing. If you can dispel any myths about that issue and how it could affect HPDE / Autocross users of the car that would be helpful.

I really like Z cars. I'd like to see it used as a completely streetable HPDE/TT car. Reliable and predictable on the track, and could still cut it as a DD if needed. I would start with a real LSD tires and parts from the NISMO catalog. Skip engine mods except for ecm tuning and the aforementioned NISMO bolt ons.

I'm looking forward to seeing what GRM does with this one

Something that pays homage to the prettiest Z car of this generation.

Then NISMO fully bolted.

I would be really interested to see a multi-purpose Drift/HPDE toy that maintains street manners. Basically, are these things mutually exclusive? Or if you don't go too far down the rabbit hole for one purpose, can you have a toy to hoon with the young dorifto boyz that is still confidence inspiring at the limit?

Drift isn't my #1 motorsport of choice, but so far I don't believe you've built a drift car yet. I'd really like to see how you guys would go about doing that in a nice mature way that doesn't ruin the car for every other purpose.

And absolutely keep it clean and understated as far as styling.

Say what? OK maybe the engine doesn't need a lot more power, but the chassis does. That or some serious lap band surgery.

I agree with some of the others in that it would be nice to see where & how much weight you can lose while retaining dd practicality, how to cheaply & reliably increase the HP & torques by about 100 each, and how to deal with the front tire feathering issue on earlier cars. With sufficient info I might buy mine back from the wife when she's done with it.

Also, inexpensive fixes for some of the other problems like the cruise control buttons on the steering wheel not working and replacing/repairig the fluid filled rubber isolation donut thingy in the rear chassis brace without buying the whole rear chassis brace.

I'd like to see an interesting kit car build using 350z components. There's all this hoopla abut the Miata-based Exocet. Well a 35VQ will give you twice the power at the same weight. Seems like a no-brainer....
