I know we have more than one OS-X aficionado here... and iRacing now fully supports it.
However, in a huge puddle of even more awesome sauce... I am installing the 64 bit debian linux version right now. It isn't supported yet (hopefully someday?) but that has never stopped me before.
I take back everything negative I may have said or implied about the iracing folks. This is one sweet move IMO and even just the os-x thing was enough for me to pay attention. A working linux version of a professional quality racing sim, damn. I just re-upped my subscription based solely on giving $ to people who bring E36 M3 I want to a platform I live on.
People always hate on MS but it must suck to be a Mac aficionado and not have the latest titles available to you when initially released. Oh cool you can install a 2nd operating system on your Mac to play it? Sweet I only need one :)

FWIW, I hate Apple too... but this one is native. No boot camp.
Oh, and suck it Bird :)
I was sure there was going to be atleast one other person who was excited to hear that you can iRace on linux or os-x.
I am disapoint
I might look into it...but I gotta say, after my experience trying to get a Logitech wheel to work properly under Linux, I think I'll stick to Windows for gaming.
No one can hear you over the background noise from GTAV

My Driving Force Pro took 5 minutes to get working.
sudo apt-get install libusb-1.0-0-dev git
git clone https://github.com/thk/LTWheelConf.git
cd LTWheelConf
make
sudo cp ltwheelconf /usr/local/bin/
sudo ltwheelconf --wheel DFP --nativemode --range 540
Configure to taste within the game.
I was very excited to see this but a bit of poking around suggests that it's somewhere between hard and impossible right now to get force feedback wheels to work under OS X. Given how much "fun" I had to get my old Fanatec wheel to work under Windows I think I still have to keep rebooting.
That was the biggest problem under Linux as well...I just couldn't get the force feedback to work.

I was driving with nice FFB last night in test mode. It's no big deal on Linux.
I am still using the open source xorg driver for the ATI graphics card too and atleast in test mode it was OK at 55-70fps with a lot of the features turned up to high resolution. I'm going to install the proprietary one from ATI and the dkms kernel module and see if it ups the frame rate any but it's passable as-is.

This sounds like they have it figured out:

This is interesting... I still haven't tried iRacing, and end up not playing GT5 very often.
Maybe this is the thing to get me to finally give it a shot. OTOH, I haven't been very excited about the tinkering portion in quite some time, wandered off to Kubuntu, and now am far behind the curve in both hardware and software...
Just watched part of a Spec Racer Ford race on youtube. That looks pretty compelling...
I am pretty excited. I am running GTR 2 now, specifically the Power and Glory mod. It's good fun but my desktop is ancient and I just bought a Mac mini. Hopefully I can get my Logitech DFP to work on the Mac.

I love R-Factor with the vintage P&G mod. The Abarth and the ARCA 911s rule.
In reply to Giant Purple Snorklewacker:
The quality of the P&G mod is whats great . I am still trying to find something with modern cars that has the same polish.

I don't much care about the i-racing thing. This is awesome by itself.
