Reading the regs, I'm now searching for a Kruschev edition Wartburg...
Is this a new thing? Moscow to Paris seems like fun.

Oooohhhhhh myyyyyyyyyy gooooooooooodd they are coming to Bend, OR!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh muther ****in yeah!
Ok, wife is on board! I need a 500$ runner in San Fran. Something that'll make it to Bend. Prefer an automatic for the miles, but not required. Definitely needs AC, wife won't do the heat of cali with no AC.
Oh yeah. $500. I've overpaid for my two 200s by $300 each and the Svt by a whopping 100%. There is an OPEL Kadett nearby that the initial quote was around $700.
Man, I wish I had known about this sooner! My c900 turbo is perfect for a run like this. Less than 2 months is not enough time for me to make the non car side of the equation work out. I'm going to make some calls today, maybe a last ditch effort can be put together
If I'm reading this right the route is
Moscow, PA to Buffalo to Pittsburgh to Ashville to Nashville. In the last days of Jan.
Also, Frieburger plans to run the Super Bee of Roadkill.
This leads me to wonder, do they have an understanding to the salt and then subsequent rust they will expose the old Mopar to?
Additional, I suppose they drove to Alaska but driving from Buffalo to Pittsburgh in January is not exactly childs play or a great place/conditions to break down
That's a lot of $ just to get close enough to freiburger to convince him and finnegan to join Team Alavanche
Minus 250 points for wearing Piloti's.
Minus 300 points for using the phrase 'double apex'.
Minus up to 900 points for being a general 'douchenozzle'.
Also I only know the whereabouts of one Wartburg and its not on the market.
The vw pan kit car thing....man i have a vw trans/kennedy adapter/ej22 combo just sitting here. Yeah I'm not purpose building a bradley gt.
So, the start of Moscow to Paris is close enough that I'm half-considering this as an excuse to get out of the shop for a few days. Do I understand that the $500 usual cap for LeMons cars doesn't apply...basically "run whatcha brung"? I can't find any mention of a dollar limit (or rules) for the rally, unless simply because it's LeMons, it's assumed.
In reply to Rotaryracer:
It think this follows the logic of Concourse de Lemons more that 24 hours of Lemons.
Not really a price cap but more attracting unique rolling stock.
A parade of the unique/bizarre.
In reply to JohnRW1621:
Strange unreliable oddities with parts made of unobtainium forcing owners to purchase parts cars which feature parts of the same guaranteed likelihood of failure rate.
In reply to Rotaryracer:
I just saw this pop up on my book of faces, and over there it states that it's for 500$ cars.
There is no price cap on rally entries. It's for unusual and crappy cars but price doesn't enter into it.
The entry list shows a Morris Minor and a Manx. Those guys have the pioneering attitude, if nothing else.
I hope the Manx guys dress well.
Top speed of 40MPH? https://seattle.craigslist.org/oly/cto/5906263308.html
JohnRW1621 wrote: In reply to fanfoy: How do you factor in the Roadkill Super Bee in that $500 cap? Current entry list
Unless there's been a typo, that's not "the" Super Bee, that one is a '70. Still doubt even those guys could manage any Super Bee for $500 though. Maybe 3 of the cars on that list seem reasonable if $500 is a rule.
This definitely isn't a $500 rig.
