Flat / matte black was over about 3 months after it started (in its most recent cycle); it's just taking the rest of the world a few years to figure that out.

I remember seeing a fellow student in high school wearing all black - the Goth look. I remember thinking, "that'll never last."

That was in 1975...

I'm sorry, what were we talking about?

I'm going to say it: Red and black is tacky and overdone.

I'm a fan of flat black, if it isn't from a rattle can. Satin black, though, I think looks way better. Best of both worlds.

This is what I came in here to say. I am going to paint the Yugo with stuff.

Do not want. Maybe it's the wheels, but it does not work on what appears to be an otherwise stock car.

I hope flat black is done. Every time I see a car in flat black I roll my eyes.

The only one of all of those that even looks halfway cool is the old lincoln. But that is unfair because I love those old Marks

I had one for a while. Sold it off (this was truck bed liner black) then that crap was sanded off and it was proper flat black for a while

So would it be wrong to rattle can my 77 Camaro flat black until I get the money to finish the body work and paint it right?

Flat Black is here forever. It was here before any of us and will still be here long after we're all gone. http://www.yellowbullet.com/forum/showthread.php?t=68773&highlight=flat+black+race+cars

I like the look of the flat black, but there always seems to be an unfinished quality about it, and I really don't want to put up with being asked "what color are you going to paint it?"

It also seems like it would be a pain to keep looking good. The primer that I have on it right now looks OK, but a little dust and it starts looking like a dirty chalk board, and I haven't found a good way to clean it. I have heard of using Windex, but I still get streaks.
