I was going to reply with "If it's got plates, it's a street car! "
Until i watched the video, that is.
Street legal and streetable are not the same.
My Nova was street legal but barely streetable like that thing the tires would roast on launch even when your not really trying.
So while that thing may have all the safety and what not to legally get tags, would you really want to drive it around town?
I would! But I'm sick like that.
Couple of things: I would be so crazy seeing that on the road if it pulled up along side me that i would probably crash.
Does the lead officer realize he's not in a race?
Interesting that not all intersections were controlled. What local town board member/state legislator is gonna get their panties in a bind over the use of municipal vehicles for such a "stunt?"
I'd like to see them try that on the streets around UVM in Vermont!
Can I get a ride? PuhLEEEASSSSSEEEEEE
Another video of the event. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6DI6YGl2AA&feature=related
Kind like the car chase and the end of the Miami Vice episode "Florence Italy" but without the crash.

Probably get hung up on a frost heave.
I wonder if that clutch worked after that. Rolling burnouts are the only way to start in some cars. Clutch = on or off.
Anyone else find it amusing at how much the new prototypes look like Ultima GTRs and Superlite kit cars?
I would E36 M3 myself if that pulled up next to me at a light
I already have to fight for control when I see the local e30 m3 vert widebody
Yeah, he was 'lurching' along in the lower gears and the engine temp got too high because he wasn't able to go fast enough.
But I bet the cop was trimming his toenails in the fan!

It's better than FIU or FAMU.
poor thing. clutch was angry, plugs full of fuel, everything being shock loaded at low speed... but she's an old retired mule these days anyway. a passenger hauler :( hopefully she'll hit the vintage circuit soon. here are some shots i took in the paddock last year

The controlled intersections were probably within the jurisdiction of the campus police.

I'm gonna venture a guess and say that if he did that, the speed limit would be somewhat broken
