Looks like the crack goes all the way through and around. It has also been throwing intermittent cel's - haven't been able to capture one yet.
Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic...

Well...its not good.
I'd replace it just for good measure. If it is rare, then it could maybe be welded up. Otherwise, not worth the hassle.
Might want to check your motor mounts. Does your exhaust have a flex section?
I'll take a look at the motor mounts. I'm pretty sure it has a flex section, I haven't really fiddled around with this car much. And it's DEFINITELY not rare, unless you consider a '98 Hyundai Accent rare. LOL Has anybody seen anything on header fixes? I really don't have access to a welder right now...
i worked with a guy at autozone that had a 98 accent that developed a crack in the manifold like that. it would throw lean codes because the leak was letting in air and throwing off the O2 sensor
If $$ are tight...try this hack. Go to a good hardware store get a can of furnace cement. wire bush the manifold then start the motor for 30 sec or so just to warm it not hot just warm. Then pack a 1/4 to 1/2 thick layer around the crack going at least 3/4 of and inch on each side. Leave over night then warm it up a few minutes and let cool a few times. You'd be surprised how long it last. Worked great on my integral intake exhaust manifold on a 6 cyl 5years.....
44 had a new manifold after 2 months but it was working so ..

That explains it, seems to be a common issue with that era of Hyundai. My dad's 99 ate 2 exhaust manifolds in its lifetime (120k)
FYI Welding of cast is a PITA. You have to beat the crap out of it with a hammer before welding as well as add alot of heat to it (rosebud torch works well for that). Get another if you can (eBay, junk yard etc.) You will probably pay less for it than the cost to have it welded properly. I really like the furnace cement!! That is a great idea. I may have to try that in my truck soon as it is starting to leak. I am hoping it is a gasket.
