Please please check all of the fluid levels right away as some on the Maverick Truck Club forums have reported that some of the fluids in their trucks were underfilled from the factory.
And congrats on the new Maverick!

This may be the best answer here.
Cars are built today in cleaner facilities with smaller tolerances than ever before using better chemicals than ever before. If you want to overachieve, I think 2500 miles is the bare minimum before you change them. When do we get to SEE it?
So, I can't take delivery until the backup camera recalls are done. On a stop sale.
So here's a horrible picture.
24 xlt in azure grey with 4k tow as the only option.
Congrats!

Why so frequently on the ATF? Is that trans known to be super fragile? Every 10k seems like a lot.
According to wikipedia which is never wrong, its the 8F35, which is the same trans as the Transit Connect 8 speeds. Its not fragile per say, but its far from a beacon of reliability.
I've never understood why Wiki gets such a bad rap when you can go to the bottom of the page and literally look up the sources.
In reply to z31maniac :
No sources are listed for the transmission options on the page for either vehicle or the transmission page (which does not list the connect but does list the Maverick).
As others have said "Break-in" isn't really aa thing anymore. 99% of customers never do a break-in oil/ATF/etc change, and I've never seen it cause an issue. It's not going to cause an issue (unless you use the wrong ATF, or don't fill something properly) but it's really just a waste of money for no benefit.

My apologies, I was just going off your sarcastic posting about Wiki.

Regular maintenance is important but, working as a mechanic for 40 years, I've become a big fan of not touching something if it isn't necessary.

Yep. Especially with modern transmissions with all sorts of different fluids, wacky fill procedures, and wackier level check procedures, it seems like a way to introduce more issues.

since I offer UOA and have been trained in the ways of lube.... yes.
Yes, I knew that. I was attempting to give you props in a humorous way. 🤘🏻

Sure beats an AI just rattling off unverified low energy to acquire information- which is about half the web these days.
