What does it take to get the most attention at the Tire Rack SCCA Solo Nationals?
Turns out all you need is a bumper car, a mobility scooter and a little DIY engineering to create possibly the coolest pit vehicle in existence.

Dang ole' Dang.
I wanna make a lithium battery for it. TBH a single- maybe dual!- Tesla batteries are similar voltage and could slot where the lead acids are, would probably triple his range and make it even faster.
Probably not a good idea, but it seems that "What the hell?" is the best way to live life anyway.
It's just as silly to drive as it looks.

Seriously, why not these for urban environments? Big bumpers, easy to park and no exhaust fumes. Plus they're convertibles so you'll have fun driving to work.
It's mine and I'm definitely affiliated. Super stoked that it got such a great response at Nationals! Putting together a build thread was suggested, and i think that's on my to do list.

It's totally awesome. Love the idea, the execution, the patina. Thank you for give JG the full tour.
And a thought: Regarding the "legal" usage of this vehicle, does it just count as a mobility scooter? Like, could you drive it up and down the aisles at Walmart?

Thanks! I suppose it could still be technically considered a mobility scooter for personal use. It is a bit wide for most doorways, and it does weigh a little over 500lbs so there is that to consider.

Actually that was one of the conversations I had to have most when letting people drive it in Lincoln. Lots of folks wanted to 'bump' something. With 508lbs plus driver, electric motor torque and rubber on concrete grip, you really don't want to bump anything you actually like. I'm pretty sure this thing will pull a car. Hmmmm, another video coming soon I suppose.

I thought that probably not a good idea meant it needs to be done.
Alternative:
Step 1, acquire Nissan Altima
In reply to David S. Wallens :
It identifies as a mobility scooter. And in this world that is fine.
