I'm looking at how you can easily see head bolts under the spark plug boots and it looks like the exhaust manifold flanges point down. Meaning, Pontiac engine.
If you look real close, you can see the pipes in the head where the water pump directed its output to the exhaust port side of the cylinder head. Pontiac did reverse flow cooling in the Fifties and then sort of abandoned it, although all heads right up to 1981 had the core plug there where the water inlet was.
